The Holy Covenant Lodge is founded on the United Rites. Complimentary to the Lodge, we maintain a direct connection to adepts of the Great White Brotherhood.

The Lodge is a collaborative body of initiates all set on a trajectory to realize the Great Work of the Magi. The focus of the lodge is on education, experimentation and a sharing of resources. The Lodge administers a structured initiatory environment based on a traditional degree structure and direct mentorship of a preceptor.

We are a thelemic body as we hold a common understanding of True Will. This does not imply, however, a required adherence to the word as formulated in Liber AL vel Legis (The Book of the Law) and promulgated by Aleister Crowley. We recognize that there are other lines of thelemic thought, some, such as that of St. Rabelais, antecedent to the dawning of the New Aeon.

As reflected in our name, the Lodge places an emphasis on the dual-nature of the New Aeon as expressed in the contending (and complementary) forces of Horus and Set. Horus is the potential of the humankind looking upwards and Set is the promise of the Universe to humanity. Set is the activating force--Kepher.

In the formula LAShTAL, Set (Shin-Teth) is the force that transforms inertia to bring God (AL) out of No-thing (LA). Set is the sudden eruption of chaos in the midst of order that transforms the world in an existential instant. Shin is "the forcible subtle creative Spirit of Life, fiery and triplex, continous." While Teth "suggests a spontaneous act sudden and irrevocable, like the snake's bite." (Equinox of the Gods, chapter 7)

Set is the Holy Covenant and the third (and secret) Key of the Law... the Two-in-One letter, the Sun and Moon conjoined, and the secret revelation of the squared circle's failure.
